Red Velvet Mug Cake Recipe

 

Ingredients

For the Cake

3 Tbsp. milk

1/2 tsp. apple cider vinegar

12 drops red food coloring

2 Tbsp. vegetable oil

1/4 tsp. vanilla extract

1/4 cup all-purpose flour

3 Tbsp. granulated sugar

1 tsp. unsweetened cocoa powder

1/4 tsp. baking powder

1/4 tsp. salt

For the FROSTING

2 Tbsp. cream cheese, at room temperature

1 Tbsp. powdered sugar

Dash of vanilla extract

Directions

👉 Take a big mug that can go in the microwave.

👉 Pour in milk & vinegar.

👉 Stir with a fork.

👉 Add a few drops of food coloring.

👉 Add vegetable oil & vanilla.

👉 Stir.

👉 Add flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and a pinch of salt.

👉 Mix everything until it's smooth and there are no lumps.

👉 Make sure the mug is clean on the outside.

👉 Put the mug in the microwave and cook on high for 1 minute and 15 seconds to 1 minute and 30 seconds.

👉 Check with a toothpick to see if it's done—it should come out clean.

👉  Let the cake cool for 2 to 3 minutes.

For the Frosting:

👉 In a small bowl, mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, and a little vanilla until smooth. Spread the frosting on top of the cake. Enjoy!
